We recently rented a house managed by Smart Homes. On arrival we found the overall state of cleanliness of the house was poor, and not, as set out in the contract, the standard the house is expected to be in when we move out. Many features of the house met that it was not immediately liveable in, such as lack of lights and curtain rails. When we should have been unpacking we had to be cleaning and purchasing light bulbs. These were items highlighted in the inventory, and never actioned upon prior to moving in.
Since arriving at the property we have informed Smart Homes of the issues over the phone and in a letter. We have had reassurances that items will be actioned upon, and admittedly after 2 weeks 2 our of the original 12 issues have been resolved. We have not had a response to the letter after 2 weeks. Numerous phone calls and the property managers have been polite, however quickly passing the problem onto someone else, promising a call back later but no such contact. We have been left frustrated and deflated.
